The Short Answer

APG: Advanced Printing and Graphics provides Sprinter van wraps in Colorado Springs, along with full and partial wraps for Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Chevy Express, and GMC Savana cargo vans. Each design is built on a template for the exact model, roof height, and wheelbase, so graphics clear door handles, seams, and windows. Wraps use cast vinyl with a protective laminate and are installed indoors in a heated bay. Most vans take two to three weeks from approved estimate and deposit, with one to three days in the install bay. Cargo vans are among the most commonly wrapped vehicles for service businesses because their tall, flat sides give a lot of readable space per dollar.

A cargo van is a rolling billboard with a business inside. The trick is designing for the van you actually own, not a flat rectangle.

Sprinters, Transits, and ProMasters dominate service fleets in Colorado Springs for good reason. They carry a lot, fit in a driveway, and give you two tall, mostly flat sides that every driver at a light on Powers or Academy can read. That makes them the easiest commercial vehicles to wrap well and the easiest to wrap badly, because each model breaks its flat sides in different places.

This page covers what changes from one van model to the next, how roof height and wheelbase change the design, how windows and rear doors are handled, and how we install. For pricing by model, see our guide to what a van wrap costs in Colorado Springs.

How each van model changes the design

Every cargo van has its own panel breaks, and the design has to respect them. The differences that matter most:

ModelWhat helpsWhat to design around
Mercedes SprinterTall sides, especially high roofDeep body lines along the lower side, sliding door track, recessed rear door handles
Ford TransitLarge upper side panels on mid and high roofCharacter line through the side, fuel door, rear door hinges
Ram ProMasterVery flat, square sides, among the easiest to wrapWide rear doors that open 260 degrees, side rub strip area
Chevy Express / GMC SavanaLong flat sides on extended modelsLower roofline, swing-out side doors on some configurations

We design on a template for your exact year, model, roof height, and wheelbase, so the phone number does not land across a door gap and the logo does not get cut by a body line.

Roof height and wheelbase

The same model comes in very different sizes. A low-roof, short-wheelbase Transit and a high-roof, extended Sprinter can differ by dozens of square feet of graphic area per side. That changes three things:

  • Where the message goes. On high-roof vans, the upper side panel sits above most car sight lines and is read from farther away, so the company name and phone number usually go high and big.
  • How much coverage pays off. On tall vans, a partial wrap covering the upper sides and rear can carry most of the message for less. Our partial vs full wrap guide covers that decision by vehicle.
  • Fleet consistency. Mixed fleets need the design adapted to each size so a short van and a tall van still look like the same company. Our fleet wraps page covers mixed fleets.

Windows, rear doors, and the back of the van

The back of a van is read more than any other surface, because it sits in front of other drivers in traffic. It is also where the design gets complicated:

  • Rear windows. Perforated window film carries the graphic across the glass while keeping visibility from inside. Solid vinyl is not used on glass the driver needs to see through.
  • Barn doors. Twin rear doors split the design down the middle. Text is laid out so it reads with both doors closed and does not cut a word in half at the seam.
  • Hinges and handles. Vinyl is trimmed around handles, hinges, and the license plate area rather than wrapped over moving parts.
  • Side windows. Passenger and crew vans with side windows use perforated film, and the design accounts for the difference in color between film over glass and film over paint.

Whether rear-window graphics are allowed depends on state rules about rear visibility and mirrors. If your van is required to display a company name, USDOT number, or other commercial markings, we can include those items in the layout based on the information you provide.

What goes on a cargo van, and in what order

A van is read in a few seconds, so the design has to rank the information. The order we design to:

  1. What you do. For people who do not know you yet, "Plumbing" or "Heating and Air" matters more than the company name.
  2. Who you are. The company name and logo, large and high.
  3. How to reach you. One phone number or one web address, large enough to read at a distance, rather than both crammed in small.
  4. Why trust you. License numbers, service area, or a short credibility line, placed where people see them when the van is parked.

Our vehicle wrap design page covers layout in more detail.

Installation and care in Colorado

Vinyl applied in the cold does not conform and does not adhere correctly. That is why we install indoors in a heated bay year round, with the van washed and dried before film goes on. Most single vans install in one day; high-roof and extended vans with full coverage may take longer.

At 6,035 feet, UV is stronger than at sea level, and winter roads carry magnesium chloride. For work vans expected to stay branded for several years, APG recommends cast vinyl with laminate. Hand washing, skipping brush car washes, and rinsing off road film promptly in winter keep a wrap looking right for its full life. Our guide to how long wraps last in Colorado Springs covers care in detail.

A professionally installed wrap generally does not damage sound factory paint and can help protect it from UV exposure and normal road wear. However, repainted panels, failing clear coat, rust, and existing paint damage may be affected during installation or removal. We inspect the vehicle and discuss any concerns before production.

Is a van wrap the right move for your business?

For most service businesses with cargo vans, a wrap is one of the best returns on marketing spend. A few exceptions:

A good fit when

  • Your vans are on the road or parked at job sites in Colorado Springs every day
  • You keep vans three years or more
  • You want every van in the fleet to look like the same company
  • Your vans are white or a neutral factory color

Look elsewhere when

  • The van has rust, peeling clear coat, or body damage that needs repair first
  • The van will be sold or returned within a year and only needs basic lettering
  • The paint has been resprayed recently and has not fully cured

Common questions

Sprinter & Cargo Van Wraps FAQ

Who wraps Sprinter vans in Colorado Springs?

APG: Advanced Printing and Graphics wraps Mercedes Sprinter vans in Colorado Springs, along with Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Chevy Express, and GMC Savana vans, using cast vinyl with laminate installed indoors in a heated bay.

How long does it take to wrap a Sprinter van?

Most Sprinter vans take two to three weeks from approved estimate and deposit, covering design, proofing, printing, and lamination, then one to three days in the install bay. Many single vans install in one day.

Which cargo van is easiest to wrap?

The Ram ProMaster has very flat, square sides and is among the easiest cargo vans to wrap. The Sprinter and Transit have more body lines, which the design has to work around.

Do you wrap high-roof and extended vans?

Yes. High-roof and extended vans have much more graphic area, and the design places the company name and phone number high on the upper side panels where they are read from farther away.

Can you put graphics on the rear windows?

Van rear windows can carry graphics using perforated window film, which shows the graphic outside while keeping visibility from inside. Whether rear-window graphics are allowed depends on state rules about rear visibility and mirrors.

How much does a Sprinter wrap cost?

APG's guide to van wrap costs in Colorado Springs lists typical ranges by model. Full van wraps generally run $3,500 to $6,500, with high-roof extended Sprinters toward the top of that range. These ranges are typical and are not project specific estimates.

Will a wrap damage my van's paint?

A professionally installed wrap generally does not damage sound factory paint and can help protect it from UV exposure and normal road wear. Repainted panels, failing clear coat, rust, and existing paint damage may be affected during installation or removal.

How long does a van wrap last in Colorado?

Cast vinyl with laminate typically lasts five to seven years on a hand-washed van in Colorado Springs and longer on a garaged van. Strong UV at altitude and winter road chemicals are the main wear factors.
